Here is the Center website.  Here is Duke's anti-discrimination policy.  It was not difficult to find.

Duke University is committed to encouraging and sustaining a learning and work community that is free from prohibited discrimination and harassment. It admits qualified students to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students.

However, North Carolina restricts marriage to one man, one woman:

There is no LGBT center.  There is an LGBT Resources webpage that is part of the multicultural affairs website.  Florida limits marriage to one man, one woman.

USF is a Catholic, Jesuit, urban university.  Interesting!  Here is their non-discrimination policy:

There are courses listed on LGBT cinema and there are news stories about LGBT alumni, but no LGBT Center.  USF does not seem to be a member of the Consortium for Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals.

Ohio State University includes sexual orientation and gender identity in its non-discrimination statement.  In addition, there are several AERA colleagues at OSU and others in the state.  Ohio limits marriage to one man, one woman.

Ohio University includes sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression in its non-discrimination statement.  The LGBT Center is well-established.  They want more experience than I currently have; but this position has a focus on teaching and curricular development that you don't find in some of these positions.

HERC and Diverse

Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC) is especially friendly to dual-career couples.  In addition there are regional HERCs listed on this webpage (http://www.hercjobs.org/site/793/about.cfm?site_id=793).

Indiana

Indiana University, Bloomington, IN
IUB is a member of the Consortium for Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals (http://www.indiana.edu/~glbt/), the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Student Support Services Office under the Division of Student Affairs.

There are eight campuses of the IU system, where Bloomington is the headquarters location.  You have to go to each specific campus website to find faculty positions.

Otherwise, I was unable to find any additional faculty openings lists, even though everywhere I went there was the statement that each administrative unit handles their own faculty openings separately from the Indiana University system.

Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN
Purdue is not a member of the Consortium.  However, Purdue does include gender identity, sexual orientation, and gender expression in its non-discrimination statement.  Purdue is the land-grant institution for Indiana, while IUB is the non-land-grant public institution.  See the post "Consortium jobs March 3" for additional information on Purdue University.


And now for the bad news about Indiana.  Indiana has DOMA legislation.

(a) Only a female may marry a male. Only a male may marry a female.
(b) A marriage between persons of the same gender is void in Indiana even if the marriage is lawful in the place where it is solemnized.

Ohio

The Ohio State University
The Ohio State University is a member of the Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals.  OSU has a multicultural center ( http://www.mcc.osu.edu/ ) in the Department of Student Life.  Go Buckeyes!

Non-Discrimination Policy

In accordance with the non-discrimination policy of the Ohio State University, its Medical Center and College of Medicine, the admissions office strictly prohibits any discrimination based upon age, color, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, national origin, religion, or veteran status in its application, admission, or enrollment practices.

Oberlin's Multicultural Resource Center is a member of the Consortium.  Oberlin received five stars from the Campus Climate survey in August, 2010.

On the homepage for UR ( www.richmond.edu ) at the bottom of the page, there is a link for "Legal Notices."  In the middle of that page is the following:

Iowa

The University of Iowa

UIowa has an LGBT Resource Center ( http://imu.uiowa.edu/lgbt/ ), and they are members of the Consortium for Higher Education LGBT Professionals.

Nondiscrimination Statement

Iowa State University

LGBT Student Resources is under the Dean of Students Office.  There is a Rainbow Reception to welcome queer students back to school in the fall, and a Prom in April.

Dr. Scharmann explained that UNI was formerly a Normal School, i.e., Iowa State Teachers College.  Cedar Falls is approximately 6% more expensive than Manhattan, KS with housing being 17% more expensive.  However, Waterloo is 2% less expensive overall than Manhattan, KS with housing being 12% less expensive than Manhattan, KS.
