Indiana University, Bloomington, IN
IUB is a member of the Consortium for Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals (http://www.indiana.edu/~glbt/), the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Student Support Services Office under the Division of Student Affairs.

IUB's Affirmative Action Statement

Indiana University pledges itself to continue its commitment to the achievement of equal opportunity within the University and throughout American society as a whole. In this regard, Indiana University will recruit, hire, promote, educate, and provide services to persons based upon their individual qualifications. There are eight campuses of the IU system, where Bloomington is the headquarters location.  You have to go to each specific campus website to find faculty positions.

Otherwise, I was unable to find any additional faculty openings lists, even though everywhere I went there was the statement that each administrative unit handles their own faculty openings separately from the Indiana University system.

Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN
Purdue is not a member of the Consortium.  However, Purdue does include gender identity, sexual orientation, and gender expression in its non-discrimination statement.  Purdue is the land-grant institution for Indiana, while IUB is the non-land-grant public institution.  See the post "Consortium jobs March 3" for additional information on Purdue University.


And now for the bad news about Indiana.  Indiana has DOMA legislation.

STATUTE

Same sex marriages prohibited
(a) Only a female may marry a male. Only a male may marry a female.
(b) A marriage between persons of the same gender is void in Indiana even if the marriage is lawful in the place where it is solemnized.
(Indiana Code section 31-11-1-1)

Ohio

The Ohio State University
The Ohio State University is a member of the Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals.  OSU has a multicultural center ( http://www.mcc.osu.edu/ ) in the Department of Student Life.  Go Buckeyes!

Non-Discrimination Policy

In accordance with the non-discrimination policy of the Ohio State University, its Medical Center and College of Medicine, the admissions office strictly prohibits any discrimination based upon age, color, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, national origin, religion, or veteran status in its application, admission, or enrollment practices.

Ohio is a DOMA state; that is, there is a statute prohibiting same-sex marriage.

Washburn University

Like WSU (below) there is a student organization, but no university LGBT Resource Center, and Washburn is NOT a member of the Consortium for Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals.

Statement of Non-Discrimination: It is the policy of Washburn University to assure equal educational and employment opportunity to qualified individuals without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, ancestry, disability, sex, marital or parental status or sexual orientation.

Wichita State University Employment

WSU, however, does NOT have an LGBT Resource Center, nor is it a member of the Consortium for Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals.  bummer

Fort Hays State University Employment

There is a student group and discussion of an LGBT Resource Center.  Way to go FHSU!

University of Missouri--St. Louis

University of Nebraska--Lincoln

University of Nebraska, Lincoln has an LGBT Resource Center (  http://involved.unl.edu/lgbtqa/ ).

Washington University, St. Louis
Wash U is a member of the Consortium for Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals.   Wash U received a five-star rating from the Campus Climate Survey in 2010.  Wash U has an LGBT Student Involvement and Leadership webpage where there is a Director who got her training at the University of Kansas!

Non-Discrimination Statement

Washington University encourages and gives full consideration to all applicants for admission, financial aid, and employment. The University does not discriminate in access to, or treatment or employment in, its programs and activities on the basis of race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, veteran status, disability or genetic information.

And now for the bad news about Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska--these are all DOMA states.

CONSTITUTIONal (Amendment in Kansas)

(a) The marriage contract is to be considered in law as a civil contract. Marriage shall be constituted by one man and one woman only. All other marriages are declared to be contrary to the public policy of this state and are void.
(b) No relationship, other than a marriage, shall be recognized by the state as entitling the parties to the rights or incidents of marriage.

CONSTITUTIONal (Amendment in Missouri)

Only marriage between a man and a woman recognized as valid
That to be valid and recognized in this state, a marriage shall exist only between a man and a woman.
(Missouri Constitution, Article 1, Section 33, approved by the electorate on August 3, 2004)

CONSTITUTIONal (Amendment in Nebraska)

Marriage; same-sex relationships not valid or recognized.
Only marriage between a man and a woman shall be valid or recognized in Nebraska. The uniting of two persons of the same sex in a civil union, domestic partnership, or other similar same-sex relationship shall not be valid or recognized in Nebraska.
